Connecticut Cultural Tour
The first stop is Hartford, the capital of Connecticut. First, visit the Mark Twain House Museum. This former residence was Mark Twain's residence from 1874 to 1891 and is located in Hartford, Connecticut. Previously, Mark Twain lived in Hannibal, Missouri. The former residence consists of 19 houses and adopts Victorian Gothic architectural style. It is famous for Mark Twain's major literary works here, such as "The Gilded Age", "The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn", "The Prince and the Pauper" and "The Adventures of Life on the Mississippi". Next, we will go to Bushnell Park in downtown Hartford to enjoy the maple leaves. Bushnell Park was built in 1860 and is the first municipal park in the United States funded by citizens. Since the park is located in the center of Hartford, visitors can easily enjoy many famous landmarks of the city, including the Soldiers and Sailors Memorial Arch, the Connecticut State Capitol, the Corning Fountain, the Bushnell Park Carousel, the Performance Hall and the Park River. Our next stop will be Talcott Mountain State Park, the best place in Connecticut for autumn maple viewing. The park is located on the top of Talcott Mountain, with a 165-foot tower on the top of the mountain - the Huberian Tower. The tower was built in 1914 by successful entrepreneur Gilbert Huberian and was originally used as a vacation spot. After Mr. Huberian's death, the tower was acquired by the Hartford Times and was often used to entertain celebrities from all walks of life. President Eisenhower once held a party here. We will stroll along the 1.25-mile Talcott Mountain Road, enjoy the beautiful autumn scenery, and climb the 120 steps to the Huberian Tower. The beautiful scenery on the top of the mountain complements the magnificent panoramic view of Hartford, leaving a deep impression.Kind tips:
